00 – Rentals

A single session can host 8-40 people. A game of curling normally needs at least 2 teams of 4.  In group events, we can accommodate teams of 3 to 5 players to meet you group size. Anything large will require multiple sessions.

Ice time for curling is offered from early November through the third week of March each year. We do our best to accommodate your schedule, however, these events are staffed 100% run by volunteer members and can be subject to volunteer availability.

Check the calendar to find an available day and time for your event, then complete the Request a Rental form on the right.  After you submit the form the rental coordinator will reach out to you to confirm the rental and arrange payment which is due before you step on the ice.  Be advised the club needs approximately two weeks lead time to book an event.

We accept cash, checks, or credit card via a PayPal invoice. Final payment is required the day of the event.

The fees includes all equipment needed to curl, ice time, and use of the facility for up to two consecutive hours.  It also includes Members from the Appleton Curling Club who run the session and provide instruction.

An event that is canceled up to 48 hours before the event will be issued a full refund of your deposit and rental fee (if paid ahead).  Failure to cancel or reschedule the event within 48 hours will result in forfeiture of your deposit.

All curlers are required to sign a waiver before going on the ice. Waivers are provided at the club. Alternatively, you can download the waivers from our website, have each of your attendees print one, and bring with you the day of your event. Curlers under 18 years of age must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian before going on the ice. If a parent isn't coming to the event, they can download the waiver, sign it, and send it with the child.

If you have more/less people attending than what was agreed upon on in the rental agreement, please contact the rental chairman at least 3 days before the event to adjust the number of instructors needed.  An up-charge may be assessed.

There are tables and chairs that seat up to 32 people on the upper level of the club (additional tables/chairs may be requested if needed).  There is a full kitchen available for use.  You may caterer in or bring your own food/beverage (no alcohol). Access to the club bar requires notice prior to the event.

Participants should:

• Bring a pair of tennis shoes with clean, flat, rubber soles (no metal hooks that may scratch the ice).
• Wear comfortable loose fitting clothing. (it is difficult to curl in tight jeans)
• Dress in layers with a light jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt (initially it will be chilly on the ice, but you will warm up once you start playing). The air temperature is usually in the upper 30s to low 40s.
• A ski hat and gloves are appropriate if you chill easily.
